A Rose By Any Other Name - Treasury on the Plaza

What a beautiful day with our couple Garrett and Troynica. It was such an energetic day with so much love coming from every imaginable angle. As a photographer I occasionally tear up at some of my couple’s events, and this was one of them. We asked our couple to tell us a little bit about their love story.

Garrett and Troynica had connected due to both of them attending college in the Atlanta University Center. Troynica was sad because she had no New Year's plans and expressed this sadness in a facebook post. Garrett, being the gentleman that he is, decided to comment, stating "at least you are safe" on her post. That's when the friendship began.

When they returned to campus, Troynica and Garrett decided to meet in Lower Manley at Spelman to watch a movie on Garrett's computer. From there Garrett and Troynica went on quite a few dates and their relationship continued to grow. Their most pivotal date was when Garrett decided to take Troynica to see a movie at Fork and Screen in Buckhead (Atlanta, Georgia). Afterwards Garrett walked Troynica back to his car and presented her with a beautiful letter and poem he wrote. After Troynica read the letter, Garrett presented her with a bouquet of red roses. However, one of the roses was a bit different. It was a fake rose. Garrett then began explaining to Troynica the significance of the rose by stating, "I will love you until the last flower dies."

After years of being stubborn, Troynica agreed to make their relationship official as boyfriend and girlfriend on a Universal Studios trip they went on together in March 2013.

Then the day had come. Garrett accepted a job offer in Birmingham, Alabama. So, his family decided to host a going away party for him (at least that's what Troynica thought). On March 9, 2019 all of our family and friends gathered to wish Garrett well on his new endeavors. Towards the end of the night, Garrett decided to thank all of the guest that had come. He then turns to Troynica and expresses that he is thankful for her too. He continues, telling others our "until the last flower dies" love story and once again presents her with a bouquet of red roses at the party. He then decided to take things a step further by getting on one knee and asking for her hand in marriage. SHE SAID YES!!

And now that we are caught up, we wanted to know “How was your wedding day???"

Our wedding day was the most blissful and amazing days of our lives. We were surrounded by so much love in spite of a pandemic and were truly able to be in the moment thanks to our great team! Zach and team seamlessly captured amazing moments and was also awesome to work with. He has such a pleasant demeanor, which made it super easy to work with him.

There were so many shifts in emotions throughout the day and Zach was always able to be in the right place at the right time. From the ceremony to the reception, we were just in awe at how the wedding day came together. Before getting to the wedding day, Zach scheduled a meeting with us to discuss the flow of the wedding and to also ensure that he captures all of the moments we were hopeful he would capture. I believe that he exceeded expectations in that category. Our family loved working with him as well. He was so considerate of each person he encountered. We ended our night with a lot of laughs, smiles, and dance moves, which was truly unforgettable. I thank Zach and team for being able to provide us with these moments within photos that will last forever!
