Wade and Malcom's Garden Wedding at the Cummer Museum

Love makes your soul crawLfrom its hiding place.

As the sun set behind the towering oak at the Cummer Museum in Jacksonville, Wade and Malcolm stood together, their hands clasped tightly, surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the gardens. The warm hues of the evening sky blended seamlessly with the quiet elegance of the space, the oak’s sprawling branches offering a natural canopy that made the moment feel intimate and timeless. The air was soft with the scent of garden, and the gentle hum of the evening added a sense of calm to the ceremony, marking the beginning of their shared journey.

With friends and family gathered around, the couple exchanged vows beneath the oak’s steady branches, each word carrying the weight of their love and commitment. The sky above them slowly deepened from gold to purple, mirroring the depth of the promises they made to one another. Surrounded by those who had supported them, Wade and Malcolm embraced the moment fully, knowing that this was just the start of their future together, firmly rooted in love and in each other.

After each wedding I ask our couple to tell us their love story. I found theirs so very beautiful, because there love has so many levels

Malcolm and Wade met on August 8th, 2021. Although they had glimpsed each other months earlier during the signing of the St. Augustine Pride month proclamation, it wasn't until fate intervened once more that their story truly began to unfold. Picture Malcolm, nestled in the cozy ambiance of the Taco Shop on St. George Street, when a dashing figure in a loud shirt and a cowboy hat sauntered in—none other than Wade Lee.
Their initial encounters were mere brushstrokes in the canvas of destiny, a prelude to the magnetic connection that would eventually draw them together. Despite months of near misses and playful exchanges, it wasn't until their paths finally converged that their lives were forever changed. From that moment onward, their journey became a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of love and friendship.
Indeed, it seemed as though the universe itself conspired to bring Wade and Malcolm together. Wade once shared with Malcolm a whimsical notion—that their grandmothers, watching from above, were undoubtedly cheering them on. Malcolm, touched by the sentiment, couldn't help but agree. After all, who knows the secrets of the heart better than the wisdom of grandmothers?
Then, on a crisp February day in 2023, Wade led Malcolm on a journey to Central Park in New York City, a place steeped in history and romance. As they strolled through the park, Wade guided Malcolm to a familiar spot—the Balto Memorial Statue. This spot held a cherished dream, whispered to Malcolm's sister years ago: "Make sure my future boyfriend knows that I'll only accept a proposal if it happens at this statue."
And so, with the stage set and the moment ripe with emotion, Wade knelt before Malcolm in front of the Balto statue and asked for his hand in marriage. With tears of joy glistening in his eyes and a heart overflowing with love, Malcolm uttered the simplest yet most profound word: "Yes."
In that poignant moment, amidst the whispers of the past and the promises of the future, two souls became one—a testament to the enduring power of love and the magic of shared dreams.

Congratulations MAlcom and Wade, we know you will have a lifetime of Love
